From the rear side cover: This book chronicles the experiences of Bill Price, an Eighth Air Force fighter pilot. Bill flew three aircraft named "JANIE" through two tours of combat with the famous 353rd Fighter Group. The Thunderbolt above, and Mustang below, are the first and last planes respectively which were flown by Price as a member and eventual commander of the 350th Fighter Squadron.

The condition of the book is generally good. The covers have one or two minor scuffs, light wear along the edges and corners, and the front cover curves upwards along the right hand edge, but the spine is intact and all pages are intact, unblemished and bound. There is an area of wear on the inside front cover where a small sticker has been removed, and some light foxing to the inside covers .
