Changing Lives - More Stories from London'd Little Italy, by Olive Besagni

Published by the Camden History Society, 72 pages. Paperback (N6763X1)

From the rear side cover: London's Little Italy is located in a part of Clerkenwell, on the Camden-Islington border. From the early 19th century the area was home to countless Italian families who, escaping rural poverty in their homeland, had emigrated to London in search of a brighter future. Olive's first book, A Better Life, charted the lives of some of those migrants and their descendants, vividly describing their childhoods, employment and leisure pursuits, their family lives and Catholic faith. This second collection of oral histories does likewise, telling the stories of a different selection of Little Italy inhabitants, and of their varied fortunes in the rapidly changing world of the 20th century. Once again illustrated by treasured family photos.

The condition of the book is generally very good. The covers are clean and bright, the spine is tight and intact, and all pages are clean, intact, unblemished and tightly bound. There is an old price printed and a small price sticker, both on the rear side cover.
