From rear side cover: With the aid of more than eighty illustrations this book describes quite a wide range of buildings dating from the 8th century until the early 1800s. Included are Castle Rushen, the castle and cathedral at Peel, the bishops' fortified house, four monastic sites, two earthworks which may have borne 11 th century timber forts, several artillery forts of the 16th and 17th centuries, and twenty-two churches and chapels. There are also illustrations of the remains of early chapels or keeills.

Condition of the booklet is generally excellent. The cover is clean and tidy, the staple spine is intact and all pages are clean, intact, unblemished and tightly bound. Their is a small price sticker on the rear side cover
