Carlo and Nello Rosselli were Jewish Italian socialists who, after the rise of Mussolini and the fascists, fled from Italy and eventually settled in France, where they continued to campaign and fight against fascism (Carlo also fought in Spain). In June 1937 they were murdered by a French fascist group, and Mussolini's fascist regime was later implicated in ordering the assassinations.
The condition of the book is generally good. The ccover boards have several scuffs, blemishes and areas of discoloration, and some nibbling along the very top edge of the outside spine, but the spine itself is intact and all pages are intact, unblemished and tightly bound.
