From the foreword: When I decided to record a little of the history of Her Majesty's Theatre I hadn't realised that I would have to rely quite so heavily on accounts recorded in the two local newspapers of the day: the Carlisle Journal and the Cumberland News. I would like to thank the Cumberland News for giving me the go-ahead to quote so extensively from their pages. Without their kindness there would be no book - or at best a very slim volume indeed!

The condition of the book is generally very good. The plastic covers have some minor scuffs and wear, but the spiral binding is intact and all pages are clean, intact, unblemished and tightly bound.
