Booklet published by Hirst-Jackson in Maryport in 1989, 68 pages. A5 size booklet (A51BK6)
Signed on the first inside page: "Herbert & Mary Jackson'. Also numbered '477' on the same page.
This booklet provides a fascinating history of the Cumbrian villages of Camerton and Seaton from 630 to 1900, and it will delight anyone who has lived or grown up in either place, as well as people with a more general interest in the social history of this part of Cumbria and beyond. The booklet is illustrated with several black and white photographs
Herbert and Mary Jackson were local historians who wrote several booklets and books on the history of the villages and towns of Cumberland. They published these books and booklets themselves, and their publications have now become quite rare and very much sought after by people with an interest in the subject.
Condition of the booklet is generally good. The covers have several minor scuffs and blemishes, and some light nibbling along the edges, but the staple spine is intact and all pages are intact, unblemished and bound.
