This book is an in-depth look at the Lanarkshire town of Biggar during the Great War, and begins with a look at the South Lanarkshire town before the war, before going on to look at some of the townsfolk and soldiers who died during the conflict, others who survived, Biggar women at war and the Home Front. It thus provides a fascinating, detailed and balanced account of how this small town was affected by the war and how individual townsfolk fared.
The book is illustrated with around 150 black and white photographs, including images of the town, servicemen and souvenirs from the Front.
