Belfast Graves

Published by the National Graves Association in 1985, 210 pages. Paperback (N5075OS)

This book lists around 350 men and women who are buried in Belfast, and who fought and died for the cause of a united Ireland.

Beginning with William Orr, who was executed in October 1797, the book lists hundreds of men and women, together with a short biographical sketch of each, and many of the names are also accompanied by a photograph. There are names from the 19th century, from the 1920's and the civil war, the forties and fifties, the sixties, and then each year of the 1970's, the hunger strikers of 1981, and then right up unti lthe date of publication (the mid 1980's). An index at the rear of the book lists all the names in alphabetical order, and the book represents a fascinating and immensley useful reference work.

The condition of the book is generally very good. The cover has one or two very minor scuffs but is clean and bright, the spine is tight and intact, and all pages are clean, intact, unblemished and tightly bound.
