Avro - The Story of Manchester's Aircraft Company, by Harry Holmes
Booklet published by Neil Richardson in 1993, 26 pages. A4 size booklet (N4070P1).
This booklet provides an excellent brief history of the British aircraft manufacturer, which was founded by Alliott Vernon Roe in 1906. The company went on to produce over 35,000 aircraft, and played a key role in both the First and Second World Wars (The company eventually merged and dissapeared into the large conglomerate that was Hawker Siddeley). Among the greatest of Avro aircraft were the Lancaster, the Shackleton and the Vulcan, and this history is a must read for anyone interested in this area of aviation history
The booklet is illustrated throughout with several black and white photographs.
Condition of the booklet is excellent. The cover is clean and bright, the staple spine is tight and intact and all pages are clean, intact, unblemished and tightly bound. Has an old price printed on the front cover and small price sticker on the rear side
