Westkapelle is a village in Holland, and during the Second World War the dyke to the south of the village was destroyed by British bombers to flood the German occupation troops in Walcheren and so make liberation easier. 180 inhabitants were killed in the bombing and the village was all but destroyed by the bombs and the incoming sea, and a month later, on 1 November 1944, during the Battle of the Scheldt, British and Norwegian commandos performed an amphibious landing near the village. This small pamphlet provides a very brief account of these events.
The condition of the pamphlet is generally ok. The cover has some minor scuffs and blemishes, light wear along the edges and corners, and rusting around the staples, but the staple spine is intact and all pages are unblemished and bound.
