In 1942, at the age of 18, the author volunteered to joing the Royal Air Force, and subsequently trained as a wireless operator. After basic training his first posting was to RAF Millom, and he later spent time at RAF Castle Kennedy and Hooton Park before being posted to Egypt and the Middle East. From their he was posted to Gibraltar and spent time with No.22 Squadron of the South African Air Force

In this booklet he recounts his wartime experiences, and they offer a fascinating insight into life in the RAF during the Second World War.....
