In this booklet the author recounts his experiences during the Second World War, when he served as a British Army officer in various African campaigns. Chapters include:

  • The Kenya Regiment
  • In the Northern Frontier District with the 22 (EQ) Infantry Brigade
  • Into Italian Somaliland
  • Abyssinia - Addis Abab and the Battles of the lakes
  • Soddu and the lower Omo crossing
  • Addis Ababa and Kenya
  • Dessie and Gondar
  • East African Finale
  • Madagascar - Diego Suarez
  • The last stages
The condition of the booklet is generally ok. The covers have several minor scuffs, blemishes and creases, including a small stain in the bottom left hand corner of the front cover, and there is light nibbling and wear along the edges and corners, but the spiral binding is intact and all pages are intact, unblemished and tightly bound. Someone (presumably the author) has crossed out his address on the first inside page and inserted a new address. The same person has added the page numbers of the maps on the contents page, and an additional line of text (correcting a publishing error) on page 60.
