A Souvenir of Cormorant Reclamation
A Souvenir of Cormorant ReclamationVery small rectangular booklet, 12 pages. Date of printing unknown, presumably around 1945. Booklet is around 10cm by 13cm. (S7806)
HMS Cormorant was the name of the Royal Naval Air Station at Gibraltar during the Second World War, and this tiny little booklet collects together some sketches of life at the base during the war. There are 10 very crudely drawn illustrations showing scenes and life at the base, and each illustration is named. There is the Recreation Hall Empty, the Recreation Hall Tombola, Recreation Hall Canteen, The Mess Empty, The Mess Literally, The Mail Arrives, the Border Patrol Leaving, Ditto Returning, Cabin Clean out, and Cormorant Dreams
The condition of the booklet is generally ok. The covers have some minor scuffs and blemishes, but the staple spine is intact and all pages are intact and bound.
