The author, Donald Low, volunteered for the Royal Artillery upon the outbreak of the Second World War, and was commisioned as a Field Gunner in 1941. He joined the 72nd Anti-Tank Regiment RA and was sent to North Africa with the 6th Armoured Division in November 1942, seeing active service throughout the Tunisian campaign. After North Africa the Division was sent to Italy where Donald again took part in several battles.
Condition of the book is generally ok. The covers has one or two minor scuffs and blemishes, and some light nibbling along the edges, and the front cover curves gently upwards along the right hand side, but the spine is tight and intact, and all pages are clean, intact, unblemished and tightly bound.
