From the rear side cover: Harry Faulkner- Brown was born at the mouth of the River Tyne into a seafaring family. He started work in an architect's office before moving to Kings College, Durham University where he joined the OTC reaching the rank of sergeant. From here his military activities took him to the DU depot at Brancepath, a Sapper OCTU, a Field Company RE and eventually to a Parachute Squadron RE. He was dropped at Arnhem with the 1st Airborne Division and was fortunate to be evacuated across the river Rhine. Subsequently he flew with the Division to Norway to help to disarm the German occupiers and liberate the country. He eventually commanded the Squadron before being released to take a final qualifying University year. The contents include:
