A Good Impression - The Story of Printing in Fakenham, by Jim & Mark Baldwin

Booklet published by the author in 2002, 44 pages. A5 size booklet (N6039)

From the rear side cover: For many years the imprint of London, Fakenham and Reading indicated that a book had been produced in the North Norfolk market town of Fakenham which, by one of those accidents of history, became one of the major centres of book production in Great Britain. Although the major player in our story closed its doors in 1982 the town can still boast a considerable input into the print trade with nearly a score of companies involved in one way or another. This booklet traces the story of printing in Fakenham from its earliest beginnings which were influenced by the Miller and Stewardson families, to recent times and includes information on all the known printers in the town...

Condition of the booklet is generally very good. The covers are clean and tidy, the staple spine is intact and all pages are clean, intact, unblemished and tightly bound. There is a small price sticker on the rear side cover, and the left and right hand edges of the booklet do curve gently upwards from where it has been stored flat on the shelves.
