Booklet published by the Ipswich Transport Museum, 42 pages. A5 size booklet (N6125)

This booklet is illustrated throughout with several small black and white photographs, and provides a fascinating brief history of Ipswich Trolleybuses routes over a 40 year period.

From the introduction: Almost half a century after the electric trolleybuses departed the streets of Ipswich interest in them seems undiminished; barely a week passes without nostalgic pictures or recollections appearing in the local press and many people (the author included) recall traveling on these smooth, silent vehicles with much affection. Fascinating as they were, this booklet is not about the vehicles themselves but describes how the routes on which they operated came into being, from the small experimental beginnings, rapid growth and then gradual decline. To illustrate the story, much use has been made of pictures from the extensive Ipswich Transport Museum Collection..... even when not of the highest quality, I hope that you will enjoy these pictures that offer a glimpse not just of the old trolleybus system but also of our town as it used to be.

The condition of the booklet is generally very good. The covers are clean and bright, the staple spine is intact and all pages are clean, intact, unblemished and tightly bound. There is a small price sticker on the rear side cover.
